Lecturer, Department of Chemical Engineering, MIT
Kathryn Hansen has taught at MIT since 2012. She received her AB and PhD in Political Science from Harvard University. She has also studied at Cambridge University and the University of Chicago, and has taught at Tulane and Harvard. Dr. Hansen’s scholarly work focuses on clarifying the ultimate end of our pursuits, and how ethics is related to that ultimate end. What does it mean to live a good life? How can the pursuit of science and engineering contribute to a good life, for both oneself and others? She loves giving MIT students the chance to explore and discuss these vital questions.
